Last Friday was Jared’s birthday, and with the help of some dear friends (Dorette, Chelsea, and their sweet husbands), we pulled off a surprise Mexican-brunch Birthday party! I didn’t know this until later, but that was actually the first surprise party Jared has ever had! (Thanks so much for helping me pull that off guys!)
We were also thrilled to hear that the package we had shipped home via boat two months ago had finally arrived!

We were quite surprised that the kiddos tried the weird stuff we sent home! (We aren’t even brave enough to eat that stuff!)
Anyway, after the brunch we headed off to work where Jared was surprised by yet another party put on by our lovely boss Julie!
After work, Jared and I packed up our bags and headed to our neighboring island–Namhae for a weekend camping trip! (Yes, we spent 4 of the 5 weekends in June camping!)
We’ve been camping in our hammocks and absolutely love it!
We heard one of the best things to do on Namhae was to visit the “German Village.” We headed out the next morning to check it out, and we were not disappointed.
It was a little village built back in the 60’s for Koreans who had worked in Germany but missed their old lifestyle.
We stopped in a little café and had some German brats… along with a delicious waffle.
It was so good, that we came back with some of our friends the next day!
Overall, it was a great weekend! We throughly recommend camping in Namhae if you’re in Korea and get the chance. I mean come on–you can’t beat this beach!
Stay tuned for a quick post on our mini 4th-of-July celebration!
