Two Years Ago…

Two years ago Jared and I woke up before the crack of dawn–so that we could get married at the crack of dawn. Yes, we were married at 6am. There were several reasons for doing this.

  1. I am a morning person and I love mornings… (but, Jared–not so much).
  2. We wanted to get married outdoors in July… Yes, it gets hot and humid in Missouri.
  3. We wanted a small wedding… but we didn’t want to “not invite” our friends and family (yes, we were hoping 6am would scare people away!).
  4. We wanted to be able to enjoy our time after the wedding… and if we had an evening wedding–who knows what time it would get over!

I’ve never taken the time to post any of our wedding photos! Our neighbors, Donna and Riley of Roice Freelance Photography, and their friend Russell Hoover photographed our wedding, and I’m excited about finally posting these pictures!

We got married on my family’s ranch. I lived there until this day two years ago, and I can’t imagine getting married anywhere else.

Our nieces and my two little sisters were our flower girls!

We were blessed that so many of our friends and family showed up that early in the morning for our special day! We couldn’t have asked for a better crowd of witnesses.

Our nephew didn’t quite feel up to “ring bearer” duties that day!

I wasn’t planning on having a reception until my amazing grandma decided to cook breakfast for 200 people!

  3. Three things:

    1. I can’t believe you got married at 6am… kinda cool in my opinion!
    2. Love that your grandma made breakfast for your wedding… how special!
    3. Your family’s ranch looks like a dream!

What a beautiful wedding day, and happy anniversary!

  4. What a beautiful day and couple! How amazing to get married at dawn, that’s so romantic. It looks like a truly perfect day. I love the looks of love on both of your faces! Congrats on two years ~ we’re just heading into our 3rd year wedding anni at the end of the month. This inspires me to take some time to reflect on our own lovely day.
Here’s to many more years of love and laughter for you both~<3
