This was the first place we stayed. It was located on the coast about 20 minutes outside of Kota Kinabalu.
We used the local transportation system to and from town most of the time.
Here are a few pictures Jared snapped while walking around town.
We stopped for some fresh cocoanut juice at a local market!
I especially loved the crafts market… unfortunately when we returned to actually make some purchases there, we discovered they were closed! Note to self: Buy gifts the first time you go somewhere because you might not get a second chance!
Aside from some of the really strange smells, walking through the food markets was a lot of fun too.
A craft store!
We were fascinated by the fishing boats. We noticed that some of the boats had laundry hanging on the deck and we couldn’t help but wonder if these boats are their homes too.
This was the restaurant district… we spent a lot of quality time enjoying quality food here!
Back at the resort, Jared captured some pictures of the beautiful sunset.
Stay tuned for more pictures of our trip! Up next–the River Cruise where we saw a lot of wild monkeys!
