For those of you who are interested, here’s a tutorial for the origami dresses I made awhile back.
Start with a regular piece of origami paper (if you don’t have origami paper, than just use a square piece of regular paper).
Fold it in half to make a crease.
Turn it over and fold the edges to meet the middle (making quarter length creases).
Do the same to the other side.
Take an outer fold and align it with the middle crease. Fold.
Now do the same thing to the other side.
Fold the bottom half up until it’s about 1/4 in. from the top. Crease.
Fold the bottom half back back down, making another 1/4 in. fold.
Now, to make the skirt, pull one side away and crease at the top.
Fold the top flap over and crease.
Now make a diagonal crease to “shape” the skirt.
Repeat the same steps on the other side.
For the collar and sleeves, fold the inner edge outward. Crease.
Do the same thing on the other side.
Now, for the tricky part, turn the dress over. Unfold the sides.
Slowly and gently pull the middle backwards….
Fold the edges out to make the sleeves.
When I first made these dresses, I didn’t know how big they were going to be. Since I wanted them for a card, I had to modify the size.
All I did was cut the origami paper in quarters, repeated the same process on smaller pieces of paper.
There’s a dress you can put on a card!
Let me know how it goes when you try it out!
Good pictures! I love it. So do you use them on cards or all sorts of ways?
Just cards so far… Although I’m sure they would make cute decorations in a little girls room…but that will be down the road quite aways 😉
I love it! Grazie 🙂
